Once you get past the bureaucratic language (The Principal's Implementation Manual is 54 pages alone), there's some pretty good stuff in the new Massachusetts Educator Evaluation System.
All educators will self-assess and, in conjunction with their supervisor, develop goals for improving student achievement.
Eventually, feedback from students and (for administrators) staff will also be used in the evaluation process.
Part of my role in all this will be to set some school-wide SMART goals. (You can see some examples here.)
Reading, writing, and successful placement (college or career) are on my mind at the moment.
